Ecuador - Las Orquideas

Hello! 

It's been a minute after WOC. We've rested and are now coming back with Neem's FIRST NATURAL process coffee!

Ecuador has been in our mind since beginning of Neem Coffee. We've had so much good coffees from Ecuador through out our time in coffee and been looking for ways to bring it on our menu. 

With this in mind, Paul's been connecting with Qima Coffee who's been pioneer of importing amazing coffee from Ecuador and many more countries. 

When we first cupped the samples, Las Orquideas stood out. It showed layers of red berries and light tropical acidity, with a candy like sweetness and a soft floral finish.

It wasn’t our first pick — that was a washed Typica Mejorado. But April and Paul decided to bring this coffee into Neem's menu because of our mission, diversity, transparency and intentionality. 

Even though we always lean towards clean washed process coffee, we'd love to showcase that there are also really clean and well-processed natural coffees around the world! This coffee felt like a good way for us to explore that, both in roasting and brewing.

We hope you enjoy this Typica Mejorado from Fausto Alberca as much as we did.

We highly recommend resting it for at least three weeks.
