Hello everyone,
We have a surprise small amount of coffee from Ratnagiri Estate, India!
We've been wanting to source coffee from Asia and this was an opportunity we couldn't pass!
We cupped samples from Ratnagiri last year, but it wasn't our cup of tea with bit more of fermentation than what we normally like. But this time, when our importing partner mentioned 'this lot is lowkey tasting like washed Ethiopian,' how can you say no before you try?
This coffee definitely has least amount of funk/ fermentation compared to what we've cupped this year from India. A perfect descriptor from us was 'peach flavor Lipton iced tea.'
It has lemon, peach like acidity up front that makes us very curious how this cup will evolve as time goes on. In the middle, sweetness that reminded us of lemon candy holds its structure tight with oolong tea finish. Aftertaste is where you can see bit of a process but almost reminds us of light floral.
I hope this coffee helps us sharing different expression and experience of coffee from India with you all.
We highly recommend resting it for at least three weeks.
Our brew guide will be up on Instagram(@neemcoffeeproject) soon, so be sure to check it out!
