Hello!

We're here with something special this time.

Recently we were introduced by our good friend, Mike Nelson, to Armin & Mariam who are importing coffees from Yemen through Mariam's family. With little bit of talking, we found that we're after similar values after all.

But let's talk about the coffee first. Almost all of the coffees from Yemen are naturally processed with additional fermentation with scarcity of water in Yemen. Which combined with Yemeni heirloom, flavor profile of Yemen coffees are unique but it could be a little far from clarity that Neem Coffee is always after.

When Armin and Mariam shared samples with us, we weren't sure what we were walking into with not much of experience working with Yemen coffee.

But this coffee was SWEEET to begin with. On the nose, it has strawberry cheesecake like sweetness that immediately captured our attention. As we cupped, it just revealed more layers after layers. With well rounded sweetness lingers throughout the cup, it has small red berries like acidity with bit of chocolate that rounds the acidity well. As lingers, red berries turns into golden raisin or dried cranberry like vibes that was so pleasant. What this coffee was offering on the table was very different than other cups on the table or any other coffees that we've tried.

Not only the quality of coffee, what Armin and Mariam are doing for their community caught our attention. First thing they shared about MIN is that they are donating 25%/lb of their profit to an organization of our choice. Also to celebrate the start of relationship, MIN’ll match that donation which comes to $4/lb in total.

Ongoing conflict in Yemen and the difficult logistics of moving green coffee mean this lot is priced above our usual range But we think it's worth it, and it reflects what Neem is trying to do.

We're super stoked with our beginning of relationship between MIN and Neem Coffee.

We highly recommend resting it for at least three weeks.

Our brew guide will be up on Instagram(@neemcoffeeproject) soon, so be sure to check it out!
